ART FAIR ASIA FUKUOKA 2025
Exhibition Announcement

Goyo Gallery is pleased to announce its participation in ART FAIR ASIA FUKUOKA 2025.

This presentation centers on works by woodcraft artist Shingo Tsukuda, alongside two-dimensional works by contemporary artists Maho Takahashi, Cevo, and Yoichiro Masuda.

Drawing on his extensive training as a furniture craftsman and his integrated approach to wood and lacquer, Tsukuda carefully shapes each piece while discerning the unique character of the material, elevating it into works of commanding presence. His refined forms and deep respect for materials demonstrate that woodcraft remains a field of continual evolution.

Maho Takahashi distills the girl figure “ANOKO,” born from childhood memories, into a symbolic form, depicting a “private sanctuary” within contemporary life. In the series “Otoky,” inspired by experiences in Tokyo and Kyoto, Cevo reconstructs retro-futurism and anime culture, devoting approximately 70 to 90 hours to each meticulously crafted work. Yoichiro Masuda presents new works that mark a departure from his earlier, rigorously composed abstract pieces for hotels and public spaces, introducing quiet rhythm and spatial depth.

Bringing together tradition and the contemporary, material and image, generation and region, this exhibition offers viewers new perspectives. We invite you to experience the dialogue woven between woodcraft and contemporary art through these works.

CEVO (https://www.instagram.com/cevoss/

Cevo is an artist and designer born in Argentina and currently based in Stockholm.
Working with themes of personal experience and the exploration of the “unknown,” he creates works with a surrealistic sensibility. His signature series Otoky was inspired by visits to Tokyo and Kyoto and expresses a deep respect for Japanese culture and urban landscapes. Incorporating elements of retro-futurism and anime, the series gained significant attention after selling out completely at an art fair in 2024.

The creation of Otoky goes beyond photographic reproduction. Through early-morning photography and on-site exploration, Cevo develops compositions from more than 1,000 reference images, devoting approximately 70 to 90 hours to complete each work. Conceived as an homage to Japan, the series is set to continue expanding with new works.

タカハシ マホhttps://www.instagram.com/t.maho_art/

Born in 1992 in Chiba Prefecture, Japan.

All memories and experiences from early childhood form a vital foundation for human development. Taking this as her point of origin, Takahashi depicts girls whose simplified appearances function as mirrors onto which viewers may project themselves, reducing visual information to its essence. The world she creates serves as a sanctuary for individuals living within an information- and material-saturated society, and may also be understood as a form of prayer. Distinct from the heroic or idealized figures of anime and manga, her restrained imagery symbolizes a longing for peace and equality born of an affluent era, presenting a new archetype of the girl.

He has also held solo exhibitions at venues including GINZA SIX and Hyatt Centric Ginza. In addition to his artistic practice, he runs painting workshops and has continued to expand the scope of his activities in recent years.
