Announcement of Participation in ART FAIR ASIA FUKUOKA 2025
Goyo Gallery is pleased to announce its participation in ART FAIR ASIA FUKUOKA 2025.
For this exhibition, we will present the works of master woodcraft artist Shingo Tsukuda, alongside contemporary artists Maho Takahashi, Cevo, and Yoichiro Masuda.
Tsukuda, trained as a furniture maker, unites woodworking and lacquering techniques to transform the inherent qualities of wood into works of commanding presence. His refined forms and profound respect for the material demonstrate that woodcraft continues to evolve as a dynamic artistic field.
Maho Takahashi reduces her iconic girl figure ANOKO—born from childhood memories—into symbolic forms that reveal intimate sanctuaries of the present day. Cevo, drawing inspiration from his experiences in Tokyo and Kyoto, reconstructs retro-futurism and anime culture in his Otoky series, each work meticulously crafted over 70 to 90 hours. Yoichiro Masuda presents a new body of work that departs from the poised abstractions found in hotels and public spaces, offering instead a fresh challenge that imbues the environment with quiet rhythm and depth.
By bringing together tradition and contemporaneity, material and image, generations and regions, this exhibition offers audiences new perspectives. We invite you to experience the dialogue woven between woodcraft and contemporary art.

CEVO (https://www.instagram.com/cevoss/)
Cevo is an Argentine-born artist and designer based in Stockholm. His work explores themes of personal experience and the pursuit of the “unknown,” often through a surrealist lens. His signature series Otoky was inspired by time spent in Tokyo and Kyoto, paying homage to Japanese culture and urban landscapes. Incorporating elements of retro-futurism and anime, these paintings drew significant attention when they sold out at an art fair in 2024.
The creation of Otoky extends far beyond direct photographic reference. Each composition is developed from over 1,000 photographs captured through early morning shoots and on-site explorations, with a single work requiring 70 to 90 hours to complete. As a tribute to Japan, Cevo plans to continue expanding the series with new works.
Maho Takahashi (https://www.instagram.com/t.maho_art/)
Born in 1992 in Chiba, Japan.
All memories and experiences of childhood serve as essential foundations for personal growth. Taking this as her starting point, Takahashi paints the figure of a girl whose simplified features act as a mirror, allowing viewers to project themselves into the work. The worlds she creates become sanctuaries for the individual living in today’s information-saturated society—spaces akin to prayer.
Unlike the heroes and heroines of anime and manga that embody our ideals, Takahashi’s pared-down figures are symbols born of an affluent era, expressing wishes for peace and equality. They present a new form of the girl image in contemporary art.
Yoichiro Masuda (https://www.instagram.com/yoichiro_masuda/)
Born in 1981, lives and works in Tokyo. Graduated from the Department of Oil Painting, College of Art and Design, Musashino Art University in 2005.
Masuda has undertaken numerous commissions both in Japan and abroad, gaining early recognition for his work. His paintings bring a distinctive texture and atmosphere to a wide range of spaces, from commercial venues to residences, including 109 Cinemas Premium Shinjuku and Shirokane The Sky. He has also held solo exhibitions at venues such as GINZA SIX and Hyatt Centric Ginza. In addition to his artistic practice, he runs a painting school and has recently been expanding the scope of his activities.
