NKSIN x Yuka Katsuki「CONTRAST」

YUKA KATSUKI, born in 1992

belong to the same generation, known as the “Millennium Generation”. Raised under the “Yutori Education” in Japan, they are characterized by their ability to think and learn on their own, a skill necessary for survival.

Another characteristic of their generation is the shift in consumption behavior from “Mono Consumption”, which values owning things, to “Koto Consumption”, which values experiences and richness of time.

In both work and private life, they value work-life balance, which is also one of their characteristics.

The difference between them and the closely aged “Z Generation” is that while the Z Generation collects information mainly through SNS, the Millennium Generation conducts research by combining mass media and other media.

Artists NKSIN and YUKA KATSUKI, born and living in the same era, are each nurturing their individuality. 

The repeated choices they make in their lives, such as their living environment and the information they hear and see, shape their individuality and are vividly condensed and reflected in their works.

The theme of this time is “CONTRAST”. 

We hope you will read the background that nurtured each other, the awareness of problems, and the questions to society from the two confronting works.
